Lake Weyba Bushland Reserve Network
Lake Weyba Bushland Reserve Network encompasses the western and southern edges of Lake Weyba at Weyba Downs and the western section of Peregian Beach. Lake Weyba BRN is a large reserve, with a total size of 106.6HA.
There are three different regional ecosystems within the reserve:
12.2.6 – Eucalyptus racemosa subsp. racemosa open forest on dunes and sand plains. Usually deeply leached soils
12.2.7 – Melaleuca quinquenervia or rarely M. dealbata open forest on sand plains
12.5.3 – Eucalyptus racemosa subsp. racemosa woodland on remnant Tertiary surfaces. (Endangered ecosystem)
The reserve contains essential habitat for the Wallum Froglet (Crinia tinnula); Wallum Rocketfrog (Litoria freycineti); Wallum Sedgefrog (Litoria olongburensis); Koala (Phascolarctos cinereus); Glossy Black-cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus lathami lathami)
