Bushland Conservation Management | About Us

Bushland Conservation Management was started in 2010 by Joel Morris and his wife Kim on the Sunshine Coast Queensland. Joel and Kim decided to start a local business in the bush regeneration industry, an industry in which they are passionate about.
Bush regeneration is an imperative conservation technique, and aids by restoring balance to our local bushlands.  The survival of Australia’s unique wildlife depends on the correct native foods being available, suitable nesting sites and a healthy habitat providing wildlife corridors. Introduced weeds escape into bushlands smothering out endemic species diminishing bio-diversity, and essential food sources for our wildlife.  Bush Regeneration done correctly allows the natural recruitment from the native seed bank in the soil to emerge. Hand weeding around native plants and working from the good bush out are a couple of key elements in helping restoration of natural environments.

Joel, who holds a Diploma in Conservation and Land Management and a bush regeneration industry professional since 2006, teamed up with his wife Kim a Horticulturalist who specialised in Australian Native Plants and is a dedicated and passionate advocate for our wildlife and holds a Diploma in Conservation and Land Management.  Bushland Conservation Management as a team, take pride in our best practice methodology for bush regeneration and we work successfully in various ecosystems and sensitive areas throughout the Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Fraser Coast Regions since our beginnings in 2010. Our approach is always minimal impact, preferring bush regeneration techniques such as manual hand weeding wherever possible. Our staff are trained to perform conservation and land management activities, and understand the nature of working in sensitive areas. In following our systems, all staff are continuously trained to increase their skills and knowledge.

Quality & Standards

All staff are inducted onto worksites, with due consideration given to sensitive sites and are required to have the skills and certifications. Joel as the director of Bushland Conservation Management has the ability to draw upon best practice techniques and methods learnt from experience in the field and industry accepted standards. The environmental field is an ever expanding knowledge base, sparking passions and keeping our team motivated for continual growth and consistent training with regular workshops and tool box talks which increase skills, knowledge and motivation.

These factors enable Bushland Conservation Management to have the best quality of work and strive to set a benchmark in the South East Queensland bush regeneration industry. Our staff are all highly skilled in the environmental sector with all senior staff holding an Environmental Science degree or equivalent or a Diploma in Conservation and Land Management. We have in place a comprehensive Environmental Management System and Workplace Health & Safety and Environment Plan which is regularly updated.
